The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA-OC) International is a federation of 93 BOMA U.S. associations and 17 international affiliates.
The firm is an Allied Member of BOMA-OC and supports the organization through various committees and events.
Ellen Ticknor currently serves on the chapter’s Legislative Affairs Committee. The purpose of the committee is to be diligent and aware of legislation on local, state and national levels that may impact the rights and responsibilities of commercial property owners; educate the membership on relevant issues; establish a rapport with local, state and national representatives; and lobby when appropriate.
The most pressing issues in 2016 are the Split Roll tax legislation, the Minimum Wage increase, the latest changes to ADA laws and the on-going Drought and Water Conservation issues.
BOMA OC is a primary source of information on legislative issues affecting the Commercial Real Estate industry. At the local, state, and national levels, BOMA represents the concerns of commercial property owners, managers and their tenants. From local code and real estate issues, to national legislation issues, BOMA protects our members interests.
We understand that this is still an unprecedented time and property management has been challenging. We believe one way a BOMA Membership has proven to be valuable is through its constant offering of educational programs that are second to none.
On February 9th, our Education Committee produced an On the Menu Webinar focusing on the Los Angeles County Moratorium so members could learn more about how the world will be continuing to change into 2022. We received feedback that the webinar was ‘‘very informative,’ so we wanted to share it with you in case you were not able to attend:
