Legislative Affairs:
Ellen Ticknor currently serves on the chapter’s Legislative Affairs Committee. The purpose of the committee is to be diligent and aware of legislation on local, state and national levels that may impact the rights and responsibilities of commercial property owners; educate the membership on relevant issues; establish a rapport with local, state and national representatives; and lobby when appropriate.
The most pressing issues in 2016 are the Split Roll tax legislation, the Minimum Wage increase, the latest changes to ADA laws and the on-going Drought and Water Conservation issues.
Education:
Rick Seide and Ellen Ticknor support the chapter’s Education Committee and serve as guest speakers.

BOMA OC On the Menu - LA County Moratorium Update
BOMA OC is a primary source of information on legislative issues affecting the Commercial Real Estate industry. At the local, state, and national levels, BOMA represents the concerns of commercial property owners, managers and their tenants. From local code and real estate issues, to national legislation issues, BOMA protects our members interests.

On February 9th, our Education Committee produced an On the Menu Webinar focusing on the Los Angeles County Moratorium so members could learn more about how the world will be continuing to change into 2022. We received feedback that the webinar was ‘‘very informative,’ so we wanted to share it with you in case you were not able to attend:
